January Julep Maven Box Reveal!

I know, this is SO NOT CRAFTY, but I figure...everyone else is doing it, so I'm gonna.

OMG, LOOK THEY GAVE ME CANDY.

*ahem*

3 nail colors, 1 box Junior mints, and a bunch of cards....Oh, what's under the cards?

Goodies! Eyeshadow, Lip Gloss, Mascara, and nail tools! WAHOO! (Note, the eyeshadow and tools were purchased extra from the standard box. The lip gloss and nail polishes were the standard Maven box. The mascara was a gift for ordering extras.)

So, what do I think?

I have so many feels.

First, the nail colors. Gorgeous.

Casey - A beautiful dark teal, very creamy, no shimmer. Glossy finish, one to two coats needed for cover. LOVE THIS.
Shelly - A beautiful bright wintermint creme, no shimmer. Glossy finish, one to two coats needed for cover. I like it. It won't be a regular for me, but I like it.
Tyra (No Link)- Metamorphic top coat, iridescence. Shimmery finish, leans to pink. I wanted SO BADLY to love this. I love iridescent everything. But, it took FOREVER to dry. So, I don't know what it would really look like because I always ended up smudging it, even after an hour.

Next, the eye makeup. Love!

Borealis - The color is fantastic, but it goes on a little thick. If you want to use it dark, you don't need to use it wet, but the shimmer in it pays off. It's a dark iridescent shadow, black base with beautiful blues and purples.

Yeah, I know, hard to see with my glasses on.

Go Big Volumizing Mascara - I really like this mascara. It doesn't clump, it doesn't blink off, and it doesn't irritate my eyes. I have it in jet black, which goes well with the Borealis eyeshadow.

Luxe Lip Treatment in Sheer Fig - I love the color on me. I LOVE the effect. I've seen some complaints online, and it's all about the taste...which is like normal lip gloss. If you want lip smackers, buy lip smackers. This is a hydrating treatment. If you're going to lick it off, it's not going to work. That said, the smell and taste are not strong, and the hydration is noticeable. I would definitely buy this product.

Tools! Now for the tools!
Julep's gadget is the Plié Wand. So, how did my first try with it go?
Well, I made the n00b mistake of just sticking the paint brush in my polish pot. That was dumb. I'm going to need to deep clean the brush. In the instructions, it tells you to pour a small amount on a piece of foil. DO IT. Seriously. Saves SO MUCH time and frustration. And probably polish, ya know?
Anyway, using it with my dominant (right) hand was pretty much the same as using the regular brush. When I switched to my left, and turned the tail, it totally changed not just my confidence in painting with my left hand, but the actual painting. It made it comfortable to use my left hand, which is AWESOME. So, I definitely plan on using it for a long time, and trying out different things. Tonight's manicure was a rush, so it's not anything great, but maybe I can convince my sister in law to come over and play, lol.

Colors used:
Base - Nadia (Discontinued...it's my FAVORITE COLOR. THESE ARE REAL TEARS, YOU GUYS!)
Solid dots - Joanne
Glitter dots - Queen Anne

I hope you enjoyed this. I plan on doing this with every box I get. :)
