Cooking the bear

Image
I haven't cooked anything more difficult than microwaveable all year. Ok, for 2 days. Hardee-har-har, Jeni. There have been sandwiches and shakes and takeout and....ugh. I know detoxing isn't a thing, but I feel better when I eat things that are either made by me or fresh. Hell, even super fat and calorie laden foods taste better than takeout. Maybe I should try opening my Joy of Cooking? It's got wonderful recipes like how to cook bear. 😅 Anyway, I wrote out a game plan for the month, and that includes finishing the last of my paid projects, finishing gifts, AND knitting my first sweater. In the meantime, I am going to bed! Goodnight!!

*Whew* First Day Over!

I didn't really set any resolutions this year, because if I was really going to change something, I'd have done it before January the firsty-first. But, here are some things from 2015! I made enough in sales to have to pay taxes. Yipes. I fell in love with Starbucks shaken iced green tea (and the lemonade). And, subsequently, more in love with Tazo's hot Zen green tea. I gave over 50 knit Hobbes dolls to local DV shelters for the kids. I designed a rug. I joined Weight Watchers. Which is weird. But, I've lost 15 lbs. (Mostly from moving more.) I started about 20 projects that still need to be finished. So, there will be more lists. I will probably even share some recipes. But there will definitely be more making of things. Besides, you can see my workspace, with in-progress BB-8's. ;)

Pre-Order the 4x6 To Do List Sticky Notes!

We all have organizers and planners, and they all have to-do lists in them, but in every to-do list in our organizers, they fall short. At least 5 lines short. These lists aren't meant to replace day planners, but enhance them. The list fits snugly onto the pages of a 5.5"x8.5" planner, and with room to spare on full sized 8.5"x11" planners. There's a habit tracker, to add what you think you need to add. Need to get better about taking your medication? Write it down. Have trouble getting out of the house? Add it to the list. Keep things that you want to make a habit out of your to do list and in their own section where you can focus on them in their own ways.  Have daily goals you want to meet? Not getting enough water? Or maybe you want to read for 2 hours every day. Add these to your goals, and watch as you start making time to fulfilling your goals. Then, there's the to-do list. If you're anything like me, "Clean Kitchen" on a...

The Alien Queen

The light glistens harshly on your smooth black surface. Your hardened exterior protects the world from what you hold inside, But we both know that you want what every mother wants: For her children to be safe. For her children's needs to be met. It's only a matter of time. We have resigned ourselves to our futures. Your seed has been planted. Our time is limited, and there is no one to help us. One last meal. One last conversation. *sploosh* *SCREEEEEEEEEEEECH* (More like this to come! It's October, get ready for some creepy poetry!)

Holiday Ordering

Just an FYI, if you're planning on making an order for Christmas, Hannukkah, Kwanzaa, Yule, Ramadan, Eid, Novermber/December birthdays, or...really any occasion, I will need at least a request for the order by October 15th. It's the last day of 2015 that I will accept orders, because I need time to complete them AND gifts for my friends and family. You can reach me on my facebook page, or by email . :D Thanks!! Jeni

Holding Myself Accountable #selfaccountability

If you follow me on the twitter/instagram/tumblr triumvirate or are friends with me on face book, you have seen me post photos of lists under the hashtag #selfaccountability, and probably wondered what I'm doing. Some of you also know that I'm now in treatment for Bipolar Disorder, which has had me swinging from long bouts of sinking depression to short bouts of manic energy. When I was depressed, I couldn't be bothered to do much of anything, let alone clean. The house was just terrible. The boys rarely, if ever, got outside. If it wasn't microwaveable, it didn't get cooked (which meant we got takeout). Sometimes, it feels like the bouts of depression lasted longer than the manic episodes, but it's only because...sometimes, anything less than AWESOME felt like it was terrible. A little over a year ago, I started with a therapist that actually helped, and didn't tell me I needed to pray more, do yoga, or try some other "woo" treatment that isn...
